My family has taken on the daunting task of cleaning out the basement. In doing so, I stumbled across a few bins of old inventory. What kind of inventory, some of you might be asking…
In 2007/2008ish, I started my own business: Different Strokes. I considered myself an artist and I produced a variety of stationary sets, journals, and playing cards (as well as some tote bags and aprons). That’s about all that I can tell you, honestly. My memory was destroyed several years later; a side-effect of one of my medical treatments. So I don’t recall very much from that season of my life. All I know is that Different Strokes gave me a sense of purpose when all my other dreams had failed. It was good for me. But it wasn’t for forever.
Last weekend, I snapped a picture of one of my old business cards. I posted it on Instagram and Facebook with the hashtag #epicfail. Imagine my surprise when people commented and messaged me about my remaining inventory. People wanted to know what I have left and what I plan on doing with it all.
So I’ve been giving it a lot of thought, and here is what I’ve come up with. I’m not going to give away my inventory for free, but I am drastically reducing the prices. A lot of work, materials, and love when into these products.
I took pictures of everything I have and you’ll notice that each product has a number next to it. Putting pictures in posts really stresses me out sometimes. These are not perfect pictures. I just snapped them with my phone and numbered them. I didn’t want to edit or filter them. What you see is what you get.
If you see something you would like, please leave a comment with the number of the item. If it is a product that I have several of (watercolor notecards, postcards, or playing cards), please let me know how many to reserve for you. First come, first serve. When it comes to receiving your inventory…I’ll work with you one-on-one. It shouldn’t be a problem for local peeps. For those of you who are out-of-state, but still interested, I’m sure we can work something out :)
Without further ado, I give you…the Vintage Different Strokes Collection!!
No. 1-3: Small Ruled Moleskine Journals ($5)
I only have 3 of these. What you see is what you get.
No. 4 & 5: Large Ruled Molesine Journals ($10)
I only have 2 of these. What you see is what you get.
No. 6-23: Small Handmade Journals ($3)
Alrighty. These guys are made out of foam and plain white paper. The binding is hand-stitched. They’re just so much fun!
No. 24-25: Large Handmade Journals ($6)
Same as above. Just bigger.
No. 26: Watercolor Notecards ($6 per set of 8)
I have 15 sets of these. I think they were probably my most popular product. Bright and cheerful; perfect for any occasion :)
No. 27-29: Postcards (10 cents each)
These are standard postcard size. Cute and simple. I have a bunch of these guys.
No. 30: Serenity Playing Cards ($10)
This is a standard deck of playing cards. The theme is “serenity.” I designed the faces of the cards; each one has its own positive affirmation. I’m not lying when I say that people love these. I have 39 of these left.

I’d like a deck of card (#30) and one each of the postcards (#28 & 29). Thanks!
I can’t even begin to count how many projects/supplies I have from my years of crafting (most of which are still at my parents’)! We recently found a few old crafts I don’t even remember making!
